Open the American Airlines app on your iPhone. The American Airlines app looks like the blue, white, and red tail-fin of an American Airlines plane on a mostly-white background. It will say "American" underneath this.
Log in if you haven't already done so. You'll need your free AAdvantage # or username, last name, and password. AAdvantage is American Airlines' fee-free Frequent Flyer program (rewards) account. Fill in these parts, then tap the "Log in" button below. If you don't know your login details or don't have an AAdvantage account, American Airlines also gives you a way to log in as a guest instead - by tapping the "Continue as guest" button below the Log in button - and which will give you access to these same maps.
Wait until your dashboard comes up. There should only be a few seconds delay.
Access the options bar. Look down the bottom where "Flight status," "Find trip," and "Book flights" are - and find the up-pointing arrow. Pull this bar up until you see a bunch more options.
Look for and tap the "Terminal maps" entry. Although you'll see a space between "Wi-Fi and free entertainment" and its own option, it's also between itself and "Admirals Club locations" from the bottom too.
Look for the list of terminal maps that American Airlines has. Although American Airlines has maps of all of its major hubs where they do business, some of its bigger regional locations are also on the list. However, they are mostly centered over locations in the United States and Canada (including one entry in Honolulu, HI).
Tap the entry that best describes the airport. Look for the terminal map by comparing it to the airport's three-lettered airport code. As of June 2020, American Airlines has maps for ATL, AUS, BOS, CLT, ORD, DFW, DEN, GSO, BDL, HNL, IAH, STL, LAS, LHR (London-Heathrow), LAX, MIA, BNA, JFK, LGA, EWR, SNA, MCO, PHL, PHX, PIT, RDU, SAN, SFO, SJC, TPA, YYZ, and DCA. Recognize that each entry contains the airport code on top, followed by the airport name below that followed by its state representation. However, sometimes the name gets cut down (San Diego Lindberg Field San Diego got cut down to "San Diego Lindbergh Fld SDiego [sic], CA" and London Heathrow doesn't have a state name designator beside its name (because it's not in North America).
Utilize the information from the LocusLabs map that displays - as this app only utilizes those airport maps that come equipped from LocusLabs.
Make sure to tell American Airlines' app that it's okay to track your current location - if you received a dialog box asking for its permission to do so. They will only track you while you have the app open.
