Entering Pairing Mode
Turn your headphones off, if they are on. Before beginning, ensure your AfterShokz are turned off.
Press and hold the volume+ button for about 5 to 7 seconds. You will hear a welcome message from your headphones, such as "Welcome to AfterShokz" or "Welcome to Shokz."
Keep pressing the volume+ button until the LED flashes red and blue. Once this LED begins flashing, your AfterShokz are now in pairing mode. Keep reading in this article to learn how to connect your AfterShokz to various types of devices!
Pairing with iPhone
Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth. While you're in this message, ensure Bluetooth is toggled on before continuing.
Tap your AfterShokz headphones under "My Devices." The option may say AfterShokz, Shokz, and/or the specific name of your AfterShokz model. Once the AfterShokz headphones say "Connected," that means they are ready to use.
Pairing with Android
Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth. You can easily do this by swiping down from the top of the screen, then touching and holding Bluetooth.
Tap Pair new device. If you don't see Pair new device, tap More > Refresh.
Tap your AfterShokz headphones. The option may say AfterShokz, Shokz, and/or the specific name of your AfterShokz model. Once the AfterShokz headphones say "Connected," that means they are ready to use.
Pairing with Windows 10
Open your Bluetooth menu. To do this, click the Windows button in the taskbar, then navigate to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. While in this menu, ensure Bluetooth is toggled on. If your computer doesn't have built-in Bluetooth, you can use a USB Bluetooth adapter to connect Bluetooth devices to your PC instead.
Click Add Bluetooth or other device > Bluetooth. This brings you to the pairing menu for your computer.
Select your AfterShokz headphones. The option may say AfterShokz, Shokz, and/or the specific name of your AfterShokz model. Once the AfterShokz headphones say "Connected," that means they are ready to use.
Pairing on Windows 11
Open your Bluetooth menu. To do this, click the Windows button in the taskbar, then navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices. While in this menu, ensure Bluetooth is toggled on. If your computer doesn't have built-in Bluetooth, you can use a USB Bluetooth adapter to connect Bluetooth devices to your PC instead.
Click Add a device > Bluetooth. This brings you to the pairing menu for your computer.

Pairing with Mac
Click the Apple menu and navigate to System Settings > Bluetooth. System Settings may be called System Preferences instead.
Select your AfterShokz headphones. The option may say AfterShokz, Shokz, and/or the specific name of your AfterShokz model.
Click Connect. If prompted, click Accept. Once the AfterShokz headphones say "Connected," that means they are ready to use.
Pairing with NFC
Hold the NFC sign on the headset next to the NFC detection area of your device. Note that this method currently only works for AfterShokz's OpenComm headset. The NFC sign is on the left arm of the OpenComm headset.
Wait until you see a blue light flash once. This indicates that your headphones are now connected to your NFC device.
Troubleshooting
My AfterShokz are not on the list of available Bluetooth devices. If you take too long to pair your AfterShokz after putting them in pairing mode, they will leave pairing mode. Once you get to the Bluetooth menu on your device, put your AfterShokz back in pairing mode.
My AfterShokz are in pairing mode but still aren't showing up in my Bluetooth menu. Make sure that your AfterShokz headset is in Bluetooth range of your device, which is about 30 feet. However, closer is always better!
My AfterShokz used to be paired, but now I can't get them to connect. Your AfterShokz may be using outdated firmware. To update your AfterShokz firmware, you'll have to reset your headphones. Press and hold volume+ for 5 to 7 seconds. Press and hold the multifunction button, power/volume+, and volume- buttons simultaneously for 3 to 5 seconds. You will hear some beeps and vibrations. Turn your headphones off, then back on. Your headset is now reset and can be paired to your device.
