Verifying Your Bitcoin
Tap your profile icon. This is at the top-right corner of the home screen. If you aren't already logged into your account, enter your email address or phone number and password to do so now.
Tap Enable Bitcoin. You may need to scroll down to find this option.
Tap Bitcoin Verification. If you don't already have Bitcoin purchased, purchase some first.
Enter your personal information. Cash App will ask for your legal name, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your social security number (SSN). In some cases, Cash App will ask for your full SSN, address, government-issued photo ID, and/or proof of income. Cash App states that all submitted information is encrypted and securely sent to their servers.
Wait for verification. This process can take minutes to hours, though it could be longer if you had to supply more information. Once you've been verified, you'll receive a notification in Cash App.
Why verify my identity on Cash App?
Verified accounts have less limitations. You must have a verified account to initially purchase Bitcoin. Verified accounts also have an unlimited cash balance limit, Cash App Cards, and the ability to sponsor someone aged 13-17. When your account is unverified, you can only send and receive up to $1,000 every 30-day period., with a total account limit of $1,500. You also have a balance limit of $1,000. While you may be able to use Cash App with an unverified account for some time, your account will eventually be flagged and you'll need to officially verify.
