12 pro-Taliban militants killed in Pakistan
Three security personnel were injured and four buildings were damaged when militants fired six rockets.

Islamabad: Twelve pro-Taliban militants were killed and five security personnel injured in two separate incidents in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday, officials said.

Security forces killed 12 militants associated with a banned group during a clash in Kurram region near the Afghan border, officials said.

Several militants and two security personnel were injured in the gun battle.

Three security personnel were injured and four buildings were damaged when militants fired six rockets at the main market in Hangu town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The injured were personnel of the Frontier Corps and Elite Force.

In a separate incident, security forces raided the home of Taliban commander Shah Wali in Lower Dir district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation, officials said.

The security personnel found explosives, heavy machine guns, rockets, anti-tank guns and army uniforms in the house.

The Taliban commander was not present in the house at the time of the raid.
