Mumbai: Three persons, including gangster Ejaz Pathan's nephew Abdul Wahab, have been arrested in connection with October 16 Kala Ghoda shootout case.
The other two arrested have been identified as Karim and Praveen alias Samad, crime branch
officials said.
Two young men - Amjad Khan and Himanshu Choudhry - faced a barrage of bullets on October 16 outside the Kala Ghoda sessions court in Mumbai, killing them on the spot.
"We took the duo them to the hospital immediately. They were accused in a certain narcotics case and that's why they were here," said DCP Mumbai Zone 1 Brijesh Singh.
While Amjad was hit by nine bullets, Himashu was hit by three. The men were accused in a six-year old narcotics case involving 516 kilograms of mandrax and were scheduled to appear before the Sessions Court in Kala Ghoda.
Apart from now investigating the possible motive, the police may now have another worry - the possible resurfacing of intergang shootouts - which many had considered to be history.
Sources in the police force have told CNN-IBN that there are some small gangs trying to showcase their strength in the metropolis - the result, a bloody shootout in broad daylight.
