CHENNAI: Three special police teams have been formed to investigate the murder of a 46-year-old woman at Thirumullaivoyal on Tuesday. Police said they were conducting inquiries with 10 persons including previous offenders who were suspected to be involved in the murder. Forty-six -year-old Yasmin of Venkatachalam Nagar was found murdered in her house on Monday evening. 10.5 sovereigns of gold stolen. The woman’s daughters found the back door of the house open, when they returned home from college.Police sources said special teams were inquiring with labourers working in the construction site behind the house and with the persons employed by Yasmin’s husband Liyakath Ali. Teams were also collecting information regarding regular visitors to the house and previous offenders living in the area, police said. “The woman’s ear was slightly cut to remove her earrings. She was known as a calm person having not many friends in the neighbourhood. We are also probing other angles also as the accused might have stolen the gold jewellery to divert the police,” a police official said.
