GUNTUR: A 50 year old woman was raped and assaulted by two unidentified miscreants in the agricultural fields at Nandivelugu village on Wednesday night.
The severely injured victim managed to reach her native village Konakaluru in Tenali mandal. She lodged a complaint in the Two Town police station in Tenali on Thursday morning.According to the police, the victim was a construction worker. While she was waiting for a bus in Tenali to go to her village, which is 10 km away, two miscreants aged between 25 and 30 years approached and sprayed some liquid on her. Later, she fell unconscious.

When she regained consciousness around 8:30 pm, she found herself in the agricultural fields at Nandivelugu about 3 km from Konakaluru.

The police suspect that the accused might be known to the victim.
