HYDERABAD: The AntiCorruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Friday filed a petition in the ACB court seeking two more days custody of the liquor syndicate organiser Nunna Venkata Ramana in order to interrogate him about syndicate activities in Khammam district. The court has posted the hearing on the petition to Feb 13.
Venkata Ramana is the person who made the sensational statement to investigating officers that excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana had accepted a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from liquor syndicate members. Meanwhile, the court extended the police custody of two accused P Mohan Reddy, liquor syndicate incharge of Khammam district and his assistant Rajesh for two days after the ACB filed a petition for their further interrogation.

The ACB had arrested eight persons involved in the liquor trade irregularities in Khammam district and had interrogated them for four days. With the remand date coming to an end today, the accused were produced before the court. The ACB sought custody of Mohan and Rajesh for two more days, which was promptly granted.
