MYSORE: For two ministers, S A Ramadas and Raju Gowda, the day could not have been better. The second day of the Dasara festivities was a thrilling for the ministers, who inaugurated the adventure water sports at Varuna lake on Mysore-T Narasiupura Road, 10 km from the city. Following the inauguration, they enjoyed a jet ski ride in the lake for 10 minutes.Apart from the jet ski ride, kayaking and banana rides were also organised.Both Medical Education Minister Ramadas and Minister for Small Scale Raju Gowda, accompanied by Manjunath and Sowmya, the trainers of General Thimmaiah National Academy of Adventure Sports respectively, went for jet ski ride to mark the inauguration of the adventure water sports at Varuna lake.In fact, Raju Gowda, who was over enthusiastic, enjoyed jet ski ride along with trainer Sowmya. The officials and onlookers were shocked for a moment when the Minister slipped into lake as he lost control. But, he took a short swim to reach the tank bund.“I am so interested in water adventure sports from childhood and went to Goa for jet skiing. Thanks to Adventure Sports Committee for the opportunity given to me to take a ride after inaugurating the adventure sports. I enjoyed the jet ski ride,” said Raju Gowda.Speaking at the inaugural function, Raju Gowda said that children and youth should not miss sports activities as it is playing a major role in personality building . Sharing his experience, Minister Ramadas recalled his childhood days when he was an NCC cadet 25 years ago.
