BANGALORE: Air India SATS Bangalore, the joint venture company of AI providing ground handling and cargo handling services at the BIAL airport has been awarded the ‘Air Cargo Terminal Operator of the Year’ award at the “Indian Supply Chain and Logistics Summit and Excellence Awards 2012” organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi on February 8.Rajiv Ramanathan, Head-Operations of AI SATS received the award on behalf of the JV company.The award was based on the excellence of service provided by ir India SATS Bangalore, in their Bangalore cargo terminal capacity utilisation, level of mechanisation, range of specilised and value added services, IT and Electronic Date Interchange (EDI) system, customer satisfaction and responsiveness, security management, energy conservation and innovation.The Excellence Awards have been instituted to honour and recognise efforts made by the Indian logistics and supply chain organizations in creating industry benchmarks and adopting best practicesOn winning this award , AI SATS CEO, Willy Ko said: “We are honoured to receive this award on behalf of our AI SATS team, our partners and customers.
