THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed said on Thursday that the fifth ministership was given to the IUML bypassing the KPCC decision. “The workers of IUML have showered insults on me and my going to the swearing-in ceremony of their minister won’t be appreciated by the IUML,” he said taking a dig at the IUML leadership. The firebrand leader stuck to his stand against the fifth ministership and said that it would be conveyed in the next KPCC meet. Senior Congress leader V M Sudheeran told Express that he has already conveyed his resentment to Ramesh Chennithala. “I pressed the demand that the KPCC executive meet should be called at the earliest to discuss the current situation,” he said. K Muraleedharan said he did not attend the function in protest against the state Congress leadership violating the KPCC decision taken on April 3. This would be conveyed to the Congress High Command. “The state leadership has kept the Congress leaders in the dark and allotted the ministership to the IUML against the KPCC decision. The decision was taken not by the Congress High Command but by the state leadership and it has tarnished the image of the UDF Government,” said Muraleedharan and demanded that the KPCC meet should discuss the issue.
