New Delhi: In the latest development in the Zee vs Jindal extortion case, the lie-detector tests will not be conducted on arrested Zee editors Sameer Ahluwalia and Sudhir Chaudhary. With regard to Zee chairman Subhash Chandra, the court asked him to consult his doctors and then arrive at a decision on the lie-detector test.
The lie-detector tests of the two arrested Zee editors was rejected as they had not given their consent for the same. Ahluwalia and Chaudhary, however, agreed to have their voice samples recorded.
Meanwhile, Zee editors Ahluwalia and Chaudhary on Thursday moved the court seeking bail in the Rs 100-crore extortion case. A Delhi court is likely to hear the bail plea of the Zee editors on Friday.
The Crime Branch had on Monday moved applications seeking lie detection and voice samples tests to be conducted on arrested Zee editors Samir Ahluwalia and Sudhir Chaudhary and its head Subhash chandra. This after Chandra and other key players were interrogated. Police claim that scientific tests were required as they had all given conflicting versions of the story.
