As New Year approaches, police tighten noose on liquor smugglers

The Ghaziabad Police have launched a special drive to control inter-state smuggling of liquor in the run-up to the New Year.

Two persons were arrested for alleged liquor smuggling from Vijay Nagar area on Wednesday night and 20 cartons of Indian-made liquor were seized from them, police said on Thursday.

The duo have been identified as Shanu and Nafis.  The city police have started a special drive to check smuggling of liquor at multiple entry and exit points on the borders and several raids would be conducted in different parts of the district in the upcoming days.
