Association puts forth demands

BANGALORE: S L Usharani, vice-president of Karnataka State Contract Nurses Association, speaking at a press conference  said that contract nurses were given very less facilities. “We are working as contract nurses and it is hard for women to work for 12 hours, and if some nurses have to take leave, others have to cover up by working for 24 hours,” she said.Further, Usharani said that there is also a proposal to the state government to recruit permanent nurses directly. “When there are experienced hands like us, what is the need to recruit freshers,” she said.
