Noted Gandhian and journalist C Uthama Kurup has been selected for G Kumara Pillai-M Velaudhan Master Puraskaram instituted by Poornodaya Book Trust.
The award, which carries a purse of `2,000 and a citation, is given to individuals and organisations making outstanding contributions in the promotion of Gandhian philosophy.
T he award will be presented to Kurup at a function to be held at Sahitya Akademi in Thrissur on September 17. Kurup, who started his career in journalism as a sub-editor with Deenabandhu, later joined Mathrubhumi and retired as the associate editor.
