A local court on Monday directed Badaun jail authorities to ensure the presence of all five accused in the alleged rape and murder of two Dalit sisters before Central Forensic Science Laboratory team from June 24 to June 26 for lie detection tests.
"Additional District Judge SN Tripathi passed the order on an application moved by the Investigating Officer of CBI, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Shukla," assistant district government counsel Gyan Swaroop Gupta said. On June 19, the court had granted permission to the agency to conduct the tests on the five accused - Pappu Yadav, his brothers Awadhesh and Urvesh, constable Sarvesh Yadav and head constable Chattrapal.
The court directed the Jail Superintendent to ensure the presence of all the accused at PWD guest house from June 24 to June 26 between 10 am and 5 pm before the CFSL team amid high security.
The CBI also moved another application, requesting the court to summon four witnesses to get their consent to undergo lie detection tests.
The IO said that these persons have given their consent for the test, which was necessary for proper investigation.
The court, while accepting the plea, directed the IO to present all the four persons on Tuesday.
The two teenage Dalit girls were allegedly raped, killed and hanged in Katra Sadatganj in Ushait area of Badaun district in May.
The state government had recommended CBI probe into the incident.
