BBMP wins JnNURM Award

BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has been conferred with the JnNURM award for implementing reforms related to financial sustainability.Mayor Sharadamma and Special Commissioner of BBMP K Niranjan will receive the award on Tuesday in New Delhi.The announcement of the award raises many questions as the cash-strapped BBMP is riddled with various scams including the recent Rs 1,500 crore bill scam.BBMP commissioner Shankarlinge Gowda received the official word on the award from Sanjay Kumar, director of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM). The awardwill be presented at the National Conference of JnNURM at the Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
