Bijapur, Bagalkot cyclists won championship

MYSORE: Cyclists from Bijapur and Bagalkot districts won most of the prizes in the state-level open men’s and women’s cycling championship held in the city on Sunday. About 120 men and 40 women participated in the 40-km race organised jointly by Dasara Adventure Sports Sub Committee and General Thimmaiah National Academy of Adventure Sports.  While Sridhar Savanur (Bagalkot), Asif Asad (Bijapur), Sabu Ganiger, Srishaila Layannavar and Laxman Terdal (all from Bagalkot) won the first five prizes in the men’s section, Seema Hadagad, Shahira Atar, Geetanjali, Renuka and Shaila Mattihal won prizes in the women’s section.
