Srinagar: Border Security Force DIG, K S Padhi surrendered before the Central Bureau of Investigation in Srinagar on Tuesday.
The CBI had issued an arrest warrant against Padhi, a DIG rank officer, for failing to appear for an identification parade.
Padhi, is one of the 11 people accused of rape by a teenage victim who was forced into prostitution.
On Monday, the Supreme Court had refused to grant Padhi protection - presently
posted in Asom - against impending arrest in the case.
The sex scandal had evoked unprecedented public outrage and sparked off agitations in the Valley after names of some top politicans, bureaucrats and senior police officials cropped up.
The woman accused of running the racket, Sabina, is in police custody.
A Jammu and Kashmir Police DSP is also among the eight people arrested so far.
An arrest warrants have also been issued against Jammu-based advocate, Anil Sethi, son of retired judge and former Chairman of the State Accountability Commission R P Sethi.
The CBI had on Monday arrested Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Asraf Mir in Srinagar after he was identified by the minor girl in an identification parade.
