Buddhia won't run: Bangalore Police
Bangalore Police has said Buddhia will not run in an exhibition that is being organised in honour of his coach.

Bangalore: Bangalore Police has said that marathon child Buddhia Singh would not run in an exhibition that is being organised in honour of his coach on Saturday.

The decision was taken after the Orissa High Court banned Buddhia's long-distance running.

Biranchi Das, four-and-a-half-year-old Buddhia's coach had appealed to the Orissa High Court to let the toddler do what he wanted and ensure that an emerging national talent was not stamped out.

He had earlier filed a petition for contempt proceedings against the Woman and Child Development Minister, Pramilla Mallick and the Child Welfare Committee.

The coach had also said that the medical examination conducted by a team of doctors under the supervision of the Bhubaneswar District Child Welfare Committee, was unwarranted and illegal.

Das said Buddhia had been forced into a hurriedly conducted medical test with the help of police.

Medical opinion rules against children running for so long as it makes the heart beat unnaturally faster to meet the bodys need for extra oxygen.

It can even lead to heart and kidney failure.

Budhia ran a distance of 65 Kilometers in seven hours and two minutes on May 2, creating a record.

He has entered the Limca Book of Records, the Indian equivalent of the Guiness Book of World Records.
