New Delhi: Reacting to the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that Bugti's killing is a tragic loss to the people of Balochistan and Pakistan.
Bugti's death leaves a political vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
MEA added that military attacks and heavy casualties in ongoing military operations undermine the need for a peaceful dialogue to address the grievances of Balochistan and military force can never solve political problems.
Meanwhile, shops and business establishments remained closed after Sunday when mobs attacked government buildings and burnt police vehicles in Balochistan.
Hours after MEA's reaction on Baloch, Pakistan Foreign Office said India should rather focus on putting its ‘own house in order’ and do the same in its areas afflicted by insurgencies.
Pakistan said New Delhi's ‘ill-advised’ concern amounted to "blatant interference in the internal affairs" of a neighbouring country.
