As an Independence Day gift, the state government on Tuesday decided to issue health cards providing comprehensive healthcare to all government employees, pensioners and their family members.
A Government Order - GO MS No 184 - was issued on Tuesday providing healthcare on cashless basis in lieu of the present medical reimbursement system under the AP Integrated Medical Attendance Rules, 1972. Named Employees Health Care Fund (EHF), the scheme is expected to be launched by Nov 1.
All regular state government employees along with provincialised employees of local bodies, service pensioners, family pensioners and re-employed service pensioners are eligible for the scheme. The scheme will be jointly funded by monthly premium contribution of the state government employees and pensioners.
A committee headed by the chief secretary will monitor the scheme while the Arogyasri Health Care Trust (AHCT) will be the service provider for the scheme for two years. The principal secretary (Finance), the secretary (Services), GAD, the principal secretary (Medical and Health), the commissioner of Family Welfare, the director of Medical Education, the director of Health and Family Welfare, the commissioner of APVVP, the director of Treasuries and Accounts, the Pay and Accounts Officer will be the members.
