BANGALORE: The Congress ridiculed the decision of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to stage a dharna to extend support to Anna Hazare, stating it as a “joke”.In a statement issued here on Thursday, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr G Parameshwar criticised Yeddyurappa for announcing his decision to go on fast in support of Anna Hazare.Terming Yeddyurappa’s move as “cat deciding to go on pilgrimage after killing 100 mice”, Parmeshwar accused him of ill-treating the former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde, coercing him to resign before completing his term.“Yeddyurappa should instead introspect after having allowed his partymen to plunder the state’s resources and repent for it,” he added. He added that the former chief minister of the state, who is facing several charges of corruption, has become a laughing stock after the decision to go on dharna.
