PUDUCHERRY: The AIADMK on Saturday reiterated its demand for a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in admission of students under the sports quota through CENTAC. In a memorandum to the director, CBI, Chennai, Puducherry AIADMK secretary and MLA A Anbazhagan alleged that some students with the assistance of sports associations had managed to produce fake certificates to get admission to professional courses. He said that two students have been issued certificates by the Taekwando association and Atya-Patya association which were being headed by their respective fathers. Faulting the government, he said that a specific committee to verify the certificate and order of merit was defunct. The marks to qualify under sports quota were awarded by an adhoc committee, which he alleged had done so without following the guidelines properly.
