Centre has fortified security presence by deploying BSF troops in the valley on the 46th day Of curfew. The troops have been deployed in Srinagar for the first time in 12 years and they have not been issued riot control gear such as batons or body armour.
20 companies of the paramilitary force have been rushed to J&K and deployed in Srinagar uptown. This comes a day after PM Modi expressed concern over the situation in Kashmir asking for a dialogue and permanent solution to the issue. CM Mehbooba lashed out at separatists saying their calls for Azaadi are not what the common people of J&K support.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh will go on a 2-day visit to Kashmir starting on Wednesday and is expected to hold talks with all stakeholders.
The move indicates a possible rejig of the security forces in the Valley.
