Tarun had asked his neighbour, an auto driver, Marimuthu to turn down the volume of his television.
Chennai: A quarrel pertaining to turning down television volume between neighbours led to a murder at Pallikaranai on Friday. Police said Tarun (27), a van driver with a textile store at T Nagar was a tenant in a house at Kamakshi Nagar, Pallikarani.
He had asked his neighbour, an auto driver Marimuthu to turn down the volume of his television. A wordy duel ensued when Marimuthu refused to comply and stabbed Tarun with a small knife puncturing his heart.
Tarun was taken to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police have arrested Marimuthu.
