BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered contempt notice to Union of India, Parachute Regiment Training Centre (PRTC), Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area command and State Defence for making false statement, in connection with leaving open the Saber Line Road in J C Nagar to the public use.Way back in 2003, PRTC acquired the Saber Line Road claiming that it belonged to PRTC and they won’t allow any public to travel in this area. The residents of the area approached the Court, stating that it should be open to the public, then the Court directed the PRTC to leave the road for public use. However, PRTC has not opened the road to the public till date but in the Court they have submitted that the road is being opened for public use and commutation. The petitioners, A R Suresh and others, filed the contempt petition in the High court on September 17, 2010 stating that the PRTC even after the Court’s order did not open the road to public and submitted false statement to the Court. The division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice A S Bopanna after hearing the petition, ordered the contempt notice to all the four respondents and adjourned for four weeks for further hearing.
