Cooperate in Savita case: Irish PM to husband
Savita's husband has demanded for an impartial investigation into the death of his wife.

New Delhi: The Prime Minister of Ireland Enda Kenny has claimed that Savita Halappanavar's husband was not cooperating in the investigation of his wife's death. The Irish Prime Minister requested Savita’s husband Parveen to meet the head of the investigation team Sabaratnam Arulkumaran.

Savita's husband has demanded for an impartial investigation into the death of her wife after she was allegedly refused abortion.Three doctors have been removed from investigating team. All the three doctors were from Galway University Hospital.

The investigation into the death of Indian dentist Savita Halappanavar has been extremely slow, according to her family. Parveen has requested the Irish government to make public the investigation details.

However, Kenny said that it was in the interest of Parveen if he met Arulkumaran and overcame the prejudices about the investigation. He said that Parveen comments are very different from those of his legal team. Kenny told Irish Parliament Dell that Parveen had said that he did not want anyone in investigation team who was connected to Galway University Hospital.

The 31-year-old Savita, who was 17 weeks pregnant, was found to be miscarrying and wanted an abortion. But the doctors declined saying theirs is a Catholic country and they cannot abort a foetus. The dead foetus was later removed and Savita was taken to the high dependency unit and then the intensive care unit, where she died of septicaemia on October 28. An autopsy carried out two days later found she died of septicaemia "documented ante-mortem" and E coli ESBL.
