Court reserves order on Sajjan's bail plea
Central Bureau of Investigation has opposed the bail plea of Kumar.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday reserved its order on the anticipatory bail plea of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, accused of instigating mobs during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Justice AK Pathak reserved the order after hearing heated arguments from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is opposing the bail plea of Kumar.

Sajjan Kumar will now have to appear before the trial court on Tuesday. A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him February 17.

During the argument, Sajjan Kumar's counsel IU Khan said his client is willing to undergo any scientific test (lie detector or narco) to prove his innocence.

The CBI had filed a charge sheet against Sajjan Kumar and others in two cases for allegedly instigating mobs after the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi October 31, 1984. Over 3,000 Sikhs across Delhi were killed in the communal frenzy in the days following the assassination.
