Court to hear plea on ZP elections Friday

HYDERABAD: Justice Naushad Ali of the AP High Court on Thursday adjourned by a day the hearing on a writ petition questioning the inaction of the state government and the State Election Commission (SEC) in the conduct of elections to the mandal parishads and zilla parishads.Chairpersons of 7 zilla parishads from Krishna district and one MPP moved the court complaining about the failure of the government and the SEC to conduct of the elections after the term of the present incumbent ends.The petitioners argued that the officials concerned were not taking steps to hold elections on the ground that the reservation policy was not cleared.
