Cricket India Academy launched in Mangalore

He said the talents in the country lack proper guidance as per international standards. Good infrastructure and training will help children develop as cricketers, he added.Cricket Australia already has affiliated Cricket India Academies in Mumbai, Rajasthan and Pune, which started eight centres in the last two years. Cricket education programme is the motto of Cricket Australia, he said.  Explaining that Cricket Australia has been training children of 9 to 14 as a six-year-programme, he said the children will be taught cricket as a curriculum to train them in a systematic way.He also informed that SEDIL and Cricket Australia will train 25 coaches in Jaipur for six days from September 20. There will be coaches from 10 cities of India, in which two coaches are from Mangalore and they will training at Cricket Australia on coaching.Former Indian cricketer Brijesh Patel said that budding cricketers need to focus on their coaches, besides hard work and fitness.Cricket Australia’s coach manger Matthew Betsey said that sports and education needs to be clubbed together in India’s education curriculum.  Martin Gleeson inaugurated five turfs at St Aloysius College, which has two astro turfs and three matting turfs to train students.first published:January 01, 1970, 05:30 ISTlast updated:January 01, 1970, 05:30 IST
