KARIMNAGAR: A fake currency racket was busted with the arrest of ten people. Counterfeit currency of Rs 4.53 lakh was seized from them.Producing those held before mediapersons here on Wednesday, SP V Ravinder said that on a tip off, the gang was held on Tuesday by Godavarikhani police. The counterfeit currency had 380 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination and 146 notes of Rs 500 denomination.Three colour xerox machines, a scanner and a photo printer were also seized from those held.The prime accused Kothapalli Shanker belonging to Adilabad district and his associate Balamallu Anjaneyulu of Chigurumamidi mandal were arrested at Ramagundam railway station.On inquiry, the duo revealed info about other gang members. Shanker and Anjaneyulu have been training the remaining gang members about printing of fake currency.
