Two weeks after the winter session began and hardly conducted any business owing to repeated disruption over the demonetisation move by the Centre, there is a slim chance of Parliament functioning for a third consecutive week.
Opposition party members are conducting a ‘Jan Akrosh Rally’ across the country to highlight the plight of the common man owing to the note ban.
Earlier we have witnessed round of protests by the Opposition as they remained firm on demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation during the debate on demonetisation.
In Rajya Sabha, former prime minister and economist Manmohan Singh led the Congress charge against demonetisation, calling it a case of “organised loot and legalised plunder”.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley, however, denied accusations and said the Opposition was looking for reasons to run away from the debate.
