THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special programme based on a women’s collective farming workshop held by Kudumbashree in Thrissur, as part of the Central Government’s Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP), will be aired by Doordarshan on February 10 and 17 at 7.05 a.m. on both days. The two-day workshop, which was held in Nadathara, Thrissur, and attended by participants from across the state, was organised by Kudumbashree’s collective farming project, in partnership with the MKSP scheme which aims to empower rural women farmers and ensure food security. A press statement said that the workshop served as a platform for discussion and knowledge-sharing on a wide range of subjects - from Kerala’s traditional agricultural practices to the latest farming techniques. Around 2.45 lakh members from 45,776 joint liability groups are involved in collective farming under Kudumbashree in Kerala. Members of 30 clusters in 691 locations across 978 grama panchayats shared their experiences at the workshop.
