New Delhi: In yet another incident where women senior citizens have been targeted in the capital, a 70-year-old former Income Tax official was found murdered at her outer Delhi residence where she was staying alone.
Gurjeet Kaur, whose son lives abroad, was found dead with her hands and legs tied to a rope and her mouth taped on Wednesday evening by her maid who informed police in Rohini.
Kaur has been living alone for the past few years as her husband died and her daughters lived elsewhere.
Prima facie, police said, it appeared to be a case of robbery-cum-murder.
A senior police official said they found articles scattered inside the house and that the victim had strangulation marks on her neck.
The incident comes a just a day after a married woman was shot dead by unidentified assailants.
There have been a number of murders involving senior citizens in the capital in the recent past.
