Delhi sealing drive set to resume
The SC Monitoring Committee has decided to resume sealing of illegal commercial units in Delhi from Wednesday.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court Monitoring Committee on Monday decided to resume sealing of commercial establishments, which are operating illegally from residential areas in the national capital, with effect from Wednesday.

Traders who didn't file their affidavits in November will be the first to face sealing action in the drive, the committee said.

On Friday, the MCD had sealed 74 unauthorised commercial establishments in the capital in accordance with the apex court order. While 28 units were sealed at the Kushal Cinema road and Jahangirpuri in the Civil Lines zone, action was taken against one unit in Punjabi Bagh.

Sixteen units were sealed at Mandir Marg, Saket, in the South Zone and 29 in Najafagarh.

With these sealings, the total number of units sealed so far since the resumption of the drive on November 8 has reached 5,266.
