PUDUCHERRY: The government has worked out a plan size of Rs 3,025 crore for the annual plan for 2012-13 and based on that sectoral proposals have been sent to Planning Commission for their consideration and approval, said Lieutenant governor Iqbal Singhon Wednesday. He said that government had been able to raise tax resources of Rs 1,188 crore during the current financial year upto February. The anticipated plan expenditure during the current financial year would be Rs 1,664 crore.Stating that the Union Territory was facing constraints in meeting the commitments in view of increase in debt servicing, he said that there is an urgent need to contain the debt burden. The Union Finance Ministry had advised the UT to prepare a road map to contain Fiscal Deficit and reduce the Debt-GSDP ratio. The government was now working towards bringing down the Fiscal Deficit, Revenue Deficit and Debt-GSDP ratio and in this light finances have to be managed.
