HYDERABAD: An elderly woman, who was watering the garden in her house, was gagged and robbed of nearly 15 tola gold ornaments by unidentified miscreants at Madhapur in the wee hours of Wednesday.Sixty-two-year-old Lakshmi Devi is wife of a retired executive engineer at irrigation department Ramakrishna Rao. The couple s tay in an independent house at Parvath Nagar under the Madhapur police limits.The couple had engaged three gardeners till recently but off late Lakshmi Devi used to water the plants daily around 4.30 a.m. She woke up at 3.30 a.m., earlier than usual, in the wee hours of Wednesday to water her plants when two unidentified miscreants entered the premises and caught her from behind.One of the miscreants gagged her while the other snatched her gold chains and the duo fled into the dark.There were no street lights in the locality and the watchman of the house was sleeping in his room when the incident took place.Police said the couple had recently fired the three gardeners and suspect their involvement in the robbery.
