CHENNAI: Former DMK MLA of Villivakkam constituency B Ranganathan, and his aide, who were arrested on August 2 on land grabbing charges, were booked under the Goondas Act on Tuesday.  Ranganathan and T V Venkatesan alias Gowrishanker were arrested after the Nolambur Annamalai Avenue Plot Owners’ Association lodged a complaint with the local police on August 1, alleging that the duo had grabbed 20.59 acre of land worth `150 crore through forged documents.On the Nolambur inspector’s recommendation, the commissioner of police directed that the former MLA and his aide to be booked under the Goondas Act, a press release said.Man sets Wife on FirePolice are on the lookout for a 32-year-old man who absconded after attempting to set his wife on fire at Shankar Nagar on Monday. The motive of the murder is still unclear, said an official.
