A major fire broke out in a building housing a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Noida on Friday morning. The incident took place in sector 51 of the NCR town. It was, however, doused after efforts for over an hour.
At least five fire tenders were rushed to the spot following the incident. The fire engulfed the second, third and fourth floors of the building.
The blaze was first noticed in the six-floor building at around 8.45 am, following which the authorities were alerted. The fire brigades reached the Noida building at around 9.15 am.
The fire reportedly broke out in the regional manager office, and did not engulf the public dealing area of the bank.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained. There were no reports of any casualties in the incident.
