Tohar Akhiyaan Deewana Bana Dihali Ba (Bhojpuri) is a family drama which highlights a man’s attempts to get control over a property. He tries to do that by creating a rift between father and son.
The story written by Birendra Paswan is very ordinary and has nothing interesting to offer. It is an old dish which has been attempted to serve in a different way. But it doesn’t succeed.
Thakur Ranjit Singh’s (Kunal Singh) only son Deepak (Mahesh Raja) is an alcoholic. Thakur’s brother, Samarjeet (Kishan Deo) devices a plan to frame Deepak in a rape case. When he succeeds in his plan, Ranjit doesn’t forgive Deepak and throws him out of the house.
Taking advantage of the situation, Samarjeet offers shelter to Deepak. To keep him in bad shape, he gives him a regular stock of liquor. With god’s grace, Deepak finally stands on his feet, finds a suitable girl, Usha (Rani Chatterji) and eventually marries her.
Also, he joins his dad and helps him in the family business. Rani Chatterji has given an outstanding performance. Kunal Singh has again not disappointed his fans and has come up with a refreshing performance.
Mahesh Raja is nice though he sometimes forcefully fitted in the scenes. The other cast do justice and support the film well.
Director Mithilesh Avinash attempt, though an honest one, doesn’t have anything new to offer. On the whole, Tohar Akhiyaan Deewana Bana Dihali Ba is disappointing.
