Jammu: More than 500 personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indian Reserve Police and Armed Police were on Friday rushed to Kishtwar district.
Curfew was imposed after communal clashes in which one was killed, the police said. "Five companies from Jammu have been rushed to Kishtwar, where clashes broke out between two communities," a police officer said.
Two companies of CRPF and three companies of Indian
Reserve Police and Armed Police were rushed to the district, the officer said.
"The Situation is very tense and efforts are being made to bring it under control," he said.
Curfew was imposed in Kishtwar after one person was killed and more than 20 injured in communal clashes in the district.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately known, suffered gunshot wounds when a group of protestors opened fire near a petrol pump in Kishtwar.
