Four killed in south Delhi road accident

New Delhi: Four young men were killed on Sunday after their speeding car hit an electric pole and turned turtle near Ansal Plaza mall in south Delhi, police said.

"Three youths from Gautam Nagar and one of their relatives from Jalandhar (in Punjab), who was travelling with them in the car, died on the spot.

Their speeding car hit an electric pole. The car turned turtle and rolled over many times before it came to a halt," a police officer said.

The impact of the crash was so powerful that it severed the head of one of the passengers from his body.

Drunken driving has been ruled out as reports of all five show no trace of alcohol. A case for causing death by negligence and rash driving has been registered.
