Ghaziabad Schools Shut Till January 12 as Dense Fog Engulfs National Capital Region
The district administration of Ghaziabad on Sunday issued closure orders till class 12 after mercury dropped in Delhi and NCR regions, following snowfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Ghaziabad: All government and private schools in Ghaziabad district have been shut till January 12 due to prevailing cold conditions. Parts of Delhi and NCR witnessed witnessed dense fog on Monday morning, a day after the maximum temperature hit the lowest of the season.

The district administration of Ghaziabad on Sunday issued closure orders till class 12 after mercury dropped in NCR region, following snowfall in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Besides the national capital, cold waves conditions intensified in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, district magistrate Ritu Maheshwari had issued a notice to change timings of government and government-aided schools. Officials of the basic education department had informed that the government schools, comprising classes from first to eighth, would open at 10 am, instead of 9 am in the wake of lowered temperatures. However, after the weather conditions worsened, the DM ordered to shut all schools.
