HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is planning to hand over cases to police relating to alleged forgery of signatures of administrative authorities by certain officers and contractors with alleged involvement of politicians since the last two years.The GHMC authorities discussed the issue with senior police officials on Friday and the latter agreed for such a probe. It must be noted that Express carried a report against certain GHMC officers resorting to forging of signatures and getting coloured copies of the signatures of the sanctioning authority in files where administrative sanction are taken for various works running into crore of rupees. The illegal activities came to the notice of examiners of account of GHMC who in turn informed senior officials. The civic body has now decided to ask the police to probe the irregularities with officials planning to lodge FIR against those who committed the irregularities.  Meanwhile, Azampura division MBT corporator Amjed Ullah Khan has written a letter to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on the matter. “The GHMC has become a hideout for all corrupt officers/contractors. Since last two years I have been writing letters of ongoing scandals to various departments including the State Vigilance and Enforcement department and Anti-Corruption Bureau. But the corrupt officers who were found guilty by ACB and vigilance department are back in GHMC on the same positions,” he alleged.
