CPM state secretariat on Monday decided to re-induct Gokuldas, the former secretary of the Mundur area committee of the party, who was demoted to the local committee.
The decision was taken at the secretariat meeting here on Monday after considering his appeal against the party decision to demote him.
The secretariat decided to retain the incumbent secretary Sudhakaran as area secretary. However, the secretariat proposed that the area committee discuss the election of a new area secretary at the meeting also to be attended by Gokuldas and a state committee member being appointed by the State leadership.
The meeting examined the situation that led to the district committee to remove Gokuldas from the area secretary’s post. Before arriving at the decision, the state leadership of the party had held parleys with Gokuldas and his colleagues for arriving at an amicable settlement to the crisis triggered by the demotion of Gokuldas.
The day-long meeting also discussed the action programme prepared to be implemented during the coming year. The state committee would review programme at its next meeting.
