CHITTOOR: In a daylight robbery, a threemember gang took away gold, silver ornaments and cash worth `13 lakh from a house after tying three young women, in Madanapalli town on Sunday.
Police said, the trio kept a watch outside the house of a retired RTC employee Babajan in Ramarao street and found that he and his wife were away to attend a marriage in Kadapa. Around 7 a.m. on Sunday, when Babajan's daughter Shahida came out to go to the bathroom in front of the house, the trio gagged her, tied her hands and force her into a room.

They also tied two other young women, friends of Shahida, who were staying in the house. Later, they broke open the almirah and took the valuables away. The robbery came to light only after Babjan returned home, a few minutes after the thieves left. Clues team was also pressed into service.
