PUDUCHERRY: The government is planning to raise Rs 200 crore loan for fully establishing the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institution and putting in place all infrastructure requirements, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told newsmen here on Tuesday. He said the revenue generated through the admission of students under the NRI would be used for running the medical college as well as to pay the interest on the loans raised. “I have requested central government for special grants. If granted the funds would be utilised for the medical college,” said Rangasamy.  The completion of construction will solve the problems of approval to the college by MCI in the next academic year and thereafter till it gets permanent registration. The State would take measures to regulate the remission of fee by students sponsored by Centac to self-financing medical colleges so that the students is overcharged.
