HUBLI: KPCC president G Parameshwar stated that the Lokayukta, the anticorruption watchdog left without a leader, has become an organisation that gives a clean chit to wrong doers by filing ‘B’ reports. He was talking to media persons on Sunday, after taking stock of preparatory works for organising the two-day national executive committee meetings of National Student Union of India (NSUI) and National Youth Congress (NYC) at Nehru Maidan in Hubli. He alleged that systematic efforts are being made by the government to weaken the Lokayukta institutions by not appointing a leader.Parmeshwar said leaders of the ruling BJP, which had come to power promising development, had been looting the state and the administration had completely collapsed following the cold war between Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.Questioning the silence of the Governor, Parmeshwar said the Congress had petitioned against the state to the Union government and Governor on several occasions but he was looking into legal aspects.Election to the state assembly is expected any time, he said and added that people of the state were fed up with the BJP and are eager for an opportunity to oust the government. To inspire youth to enter mainstream politics, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi will tour the state for two days from June 2. He will address the national executive committee meetings of NSUI and NYC.Over 20,000 elected members of the Congress youth-wing will attend, he informed. He will then tour Davangere district to participate in the KPCC programme.Parmeshwar also expressed confidence that the Congress would emerge victorious in all six MLC seats.Senior leaders B L Shankar, Veeranna Mattikatti, A M Hindesgeri and Shrinivas Mane were present.
