BANGALORE: “Dr G S Dikshith was a man of simplicity and while reading his articles, we will come to know about his unique character and his research mentality. He was very keen on epigraphy and conducted research on Srikrishnadevaraya, Vijayanagara empire and Basavanna,” former professor of Ancient History and Archaeology Srinivas Ritti said.He was speaking at the launch of the book ‘South India: An Expedition into the Past’ organised to mark the birth centenary of Dikshith at Mythic Society on Sunday.“Compared to other research scholars, Dikshith was a very social person who did not maintain a good rapport with every one. His students have successfully received doctorates in research across the India. Dikshith is the founder of Karnataka Itihasa Academy. He also encouraged and recognised scholars, who went to various countries to conduct research on Buddhism,” Ritti appreciated. Writer Jotsna Kamath, researcher Dr Chidananda Murthy and historian Suryanatha Kamath were present.
